Revoke an Allowance

You revoke an allowance by creating a new transaction.

  2. In the side menu, click Allowances.

  3. In the Allowances list, navigate to the allowance you wish to revoke, and click Revoke.

  4. In the dialog that appears, do the following:

    • Edit the transaction gas fee:
      • Select High, Medium, or Low or
      • Set a custom fee
    • Add a note if you wish.
  5. Click Preview to view the full details of the transaction you are about to execute.

  6. When you are satisfied with the values that appear, click Create transaction.

If there is an approval process involved with this new transaction, approvers must provide approval on their mobile devices. Otherwise, simply sign it on your mobile device.

Hide spam allowances

Fake allowance revocation scamsters trick Web3 users into thinking they're securing their wallets by revoking transaction permissions. In reality, these actions often can drain the funds in the affected wallet and trigger high gas fees - that benefits the scammers, not the user.

These hoaxes exploit the legitimate revoke function in Web3 wallets (such as those managed in Fordefi's platform), turning a security feature into a trap.

Instead of revoking these spam allowances, you can simply hide them. That way, you do not accidentally revoke them and remain protected from fraud.

To hide scam allowances, disable the Show spam tokens toggle at the top of the allowances list:
