# Limit Gas Fees

To protect against fraud, configure a maximum gas fee that your Fordefi account will use in any single transaction. If the gas fee that is levied for any authorized transaction exceeds the maximum you have set, the transaction will be blocked and an error message displayed.

A maximum gas fee setting MUST be made for any Fordefi account. By default, it is $1000.

It is recommended to set a fee that is not too small, so as not to disrupt the ongoing operations of your organization.

1. In the web console, click **Settings** > **Fee Controls**. A screen opens and displays the current setting.

2. To modify the value, click **Edit**. Enter a value, then click **Save**.
