Earn on Your Assets with DeFi Vaults

The Earn feature lets you discover, deposit into, monitor, and withdraw from supported DeFi yield vaults, without leaving Fordefi.

Earn is powered by yield.xyz and the underlying third-party protocols, and is available to every Fordefi organization. Every transaction that Earn initiates goes through Fordefi's standard signing pipeline and is subject to your organization's transaction policy, exactly like any other Fordefi transaction.

Fordefi is not responsible for the performance or security of yield.xyz and third-party protocols. Yields are not guaranteed and deposits carry risk of loss. This is not investment advice.

Eligibility

  • All organization members can open the Earn screen and view vaults and positions.
  • Only Traders and Admins can interact with vaults — that is, initiate deposits and withdrawals.
  • Viewers can see Earn activity but cannot deposit or withdraw.

Earn features a curated set of vaults and chains rather than the full range that yield.xyz supports. The vault and chain pickers only show options that Fordefi currently features, and the chain picker only lists the chains that the selected vault operates on.

The list of featured vaults changes over time as vaults are added or removed. If a vault you hold a position in is delisted, you keep the ability to track that position and withdraw from it directly on the provider's DApp page. Fordefi notifies you in advance of any delisting, with a targeted notification if you currently hold a deposit in that vault.

Deposit into a DeFi vault

  1. In the side menu of the Fordefi web console, click Earn.

  2. Select the Fordefi vault you want to deposit funds from.

  3. Select a chain.

  4. Select the asset to deposit. Only assets that are available in the selected Fordefi vault and have a valid deposit option are shown. The label above the input reflects the yield type. For example, Vault or Lending.

  5. Choose a specific DeFi vault from the filtered list.

  6. Enter the deposit amount. The panel updates to show how many shares you will receive and the estimated yearly and monthly rewards on that amount.

  7. Click Deposit.

  8. Review the confirmation screen. It restates the deposit amount and headline APY, and itemizes the estimated gas fee.

  9. Click Confirm, then approve the transaction on your mobile device as you would any other Fordefi transaction.

  10. Depending on the DeFi vault, you may be asked to sign two transactions: an approval and a supply. The Follow Steps screen tracks each one along the timeline approve, submitting transaction, pending, and completed once the transaction is included on-chain.

You can cancel a deposit that is still in progress using the Cancel button, which aborts the underlying Fordefi transaction.

Track your positions

The Manage tab is where your open positions live. At the top, three tiles summarize the selected Fordefi vault: Total staked, Average APY, and Available. Below them, My positions lists each DeFi vault you hold shares in, with its provider, its current APY, and your balance in both token and fiat terms.

Click a position to open its detail view, with a full balance breakdown and the staking details for that vault.

Withdraw from a DeFi vault

  1. In the side menu of the Fordefi web console, click Earn, then open the Manage tab.

  2. Select the Fordefi vault and chain.

  3. Select an existing position from My positions.

  4. Switch the toggle to Unstake.

  5. Enter the withdrawal amount, or click Max to withdraw the full balance. The panel states how long the funds will take to arrive.

  6. Click Withdraw.

  7. Review the confirmation screen, which itemizes the estimated gas fee and links to the Terms of Use and Risk Disclosures.

  8. Click Confirm and approve the transaction on your mobile device.

  9. Track progress along the same timeline: approve, submitting transaction, pending, and completed.

Withdrawn assets are not always available immediately. Each DeFi vault sets its own redemption time — some return funds instantly, others hold them for a fixed period, such as two days. This is a protocol-level constraint imposed by the third-party provider, not a Fordefi one. Check the vault's redemption time before you deposit.

Track your activity

Earn activity is recorded in two places, so you can reach it from whichever side you are working on:

  • The Activity tab: Lists your Earn transactions in reverse-chronological order, as recorded by yield.xyz. Filter by All or DeFi.
  • Your Fordefi transaction records: Show the same activity, synchronized alongside every other transaction your organization makes.

Each entry in the Activity tab shows:

  • Whether the asset was deposited or withdrawn.
  • The provider name — for example, via Maple.
  • The tokens and amounts involved, and the date.
  • A status indicator.

Click an entry to see a full description and, for a successful transaction, a link to the transaction on a block explorer.

Policy controls and security

Earn is a Fordefi transaction surface, not an external DApp session, so the controls you already rely on apply unchanged:

  • Policy enforcement: Every deposit, approval, and withdrawal goes through Fordefi's standard signing pipeline and is subject to your organization's transaction policy and screening. If a transaction is blocked by a policy condition or fails on Fordefi's side, the Earn screen shows the reason instead of submitting it. Learn more about policies.
  • Transaction records: Earn transactions are tagged so you can distinguish them from swaps and transfers directly in your Fordefi transaction records.
