# Configure an AML Provider

AML providers are configured on the **Screening** page in Settings, which holds
two independent sections:

- **Transaction screening:** External providers that screen the behavior of
outgoing transactions before they are signed. See
[Integrate transaction screening providers](/user-guide/transaction-screening).
- **AML:** The provider that screens the counterparties of incoming and outgoing
transfers against a compliance data set, described below.


Configuring one section has no effect on the other, and you can use either on
its own or both together.

## Configure the AML provider

1. Refer to the
[Chainalysis documentation](https://docs.chainalysis.com/api/kyt/#api-overview-create-api-keys)
on creating an API key.
2. Then, in the side menu of the Fordefi web console, click **Settings** >
**Screening**, and go to the **AML** section.

3. Click **Configure**.
4. When prompted, enter the AML API key and click **Configure**.


Currently the only supported AML provider is
Chainalysis.
